Why I homeschool

I found this article today, while I was reading it, it sounded just like what I went through in deciding. It literally hit the nail on the head. While I still doubt myself constantly, I know that I am trying to do my best, and I know I can try harder which I will work on. The one thing I tell myself for reassurance, is that while I might not be the best teacher in the world, I know that my children are not learning the wrong things in school. I feel it is better they learn good and moral things, then good things mixed with bad things in school. I am talking about bad behaviors from other kids, a lack of good factual history, and the one on one attention I can give my kids at home. Parties, Birthday and Christmas...

Aiden and Laynee sang with their primary in the Christmas program, they looked pretty cute! Luke also had to sing the chipmunk Christmas song for the Christmas program, so I had to get a picture so I could give him a hard time!

 Laynee loved Santa this year, the minute he came in through the door, she was right on his heels waiting to sit on his lap!

 Riley turned 10, and had 10 friends over for her birthday.... she planned her party without me knowing!

Thanksgiving

This year was the first year that we had Thanksgiving with all of my family members after 21 years. My mom and my dad were both there, which was really nice.

Birthdays!

Laynee and my mom had a birthday, and we decided to celebrate them together. Their birthdays are actually one day apart, but since our schedules have been so busy it worked out to do them together. I just can't believe my baby is 4. 

Happy Halloween!

This year for Halloween, Riley was a Southern Belle, Chase made his costume out of duct tape, Aiden was toothless from how to train your dragon, and Laynee was a witch. I dressed up as a pioneer, and Casey wore his buckaroo clothes. We went to the Halloween party at the Maugers, and they gave us the best couple award. Riley got the cutest costume, and Chase got the most creative!

Liahona Youth Conference

This year Chase was able to go to the Liahona Youth Conference through his online private school he does. I think I was more excited for him to go than he was..... although he was excited!

They got to listen to Elder John Groberg.... the man that this movie was made after to speak. Chase really liked his talk, he was pretty interested about what the rats did to his feet and all of his experiences he had while serving in Tonga.

This is my niece Makala with Brother and Sister Groberg, I entrusted my camera with her when I asked Chase if he would make sure to take good care of it and promise me he won't lose it. When he told me he couldn't promise me that, I let her take my camera!

This is Makala, her friend Jana Faye, Chase and Wyatt. Chase was cooperating so well! We took them to the actual Liahona school in Pleasant Grove, and they got to go for the day and meet their teachers. 

This was what I was wishing to see the most..... Jon Schmidt playing. I love his music!

As you can see, Chase loves getting his pictures taken. So I don't have many of him. He got to stay in a cabin with his cousin Wyatt,  at the Aspen Grove campground up by Sundance in Utah. It is really pretty there!

The last night there they have a dance for the kids 14 and up. Chase isn't old enough yet, so he had to miss out on all the ladies! Chase said his favorite speaker was the hypnotist, and he tried to get hypnotized, but it didn't work. I guess you have to have a pretty big imagination, and good concentration to be able to be hypnotized.... and Chase possesses neither of those traits! I am excited to see what they have for them next year, and maybe when Riley is old enough to go, I can tag along with her!
