Gymnastics

Riley and Laynee had their gymnastics performance tonight. It turned out cute, Laynee was the only girl in her class. Riley has been working hard on hers, and she has gotten pretty good!

This is a video of Laynee in her performance

Here is Riley's, she is the one who is third from the very right of the screen.. so she basically starts out from the center, and then follow her from then.

I love pinterest!

I love pinterest, it has given me so many new ideas and has kept me busy. Not only do you find cute crafts to make, but you can find tons of recipes...... Here are a few of the things I have done because of pinterest.
Paula and Jillyn found these on pinterest and then I tweaked them a little bit. They were supposed to be long and rectangle, and I made them square.
These burlap ornaments are pretty easy, but time consuming. I have only made three. You glue scraps of burlap onto a styrofoam ball.
Ok, the tops turned out good, I just should have used a pattern to cut out the feet. I was too tired to re-do them, so maybe next year I will make new ones that are better..... I am worn out!
I also made the Christmas tree skirt, which it is too small, so next year I will have a project again!
I also found this picture on pinterest and then edited it on picnik. I am going to do this one like the one I did for Young Women's. I need a new temple picture for my house.

Laynee!

Laynee had another birthday and is now 5, I can't believe my baby is 5 already. She was so excited for her birthday to come, she had Riley make her a chain to count down the days to her birthday. Laynee has turned into quite the character lately, she loves to sing..... we were laughing yesterday because she was playing a game on the computer and singing to the background music on her game.... which didn't match her songs at all. It was hilarious, because she doesn't just sing, she really gets into it!

She has been a fun, and very busy kid. In fact, she is like the ending firecracker at the end of the fireworks show...... she has been my most destructive child, but we love her so much!

California!

My Great Aunt Helen died on Oct. 17th and she lived to be 95 almost 96 years. She was always so nice to us, and we hadn't seen her for a long time. When we found out she died we decided to ride up to California with my dad and Uncle Mike to go to her funeral in Oceanside California. It was a great trip, to be able to ride up with my dad and Mike, and my sisters.

Makala luckily remembered her camera, so she was nice enough to share these pictures with us. Here we are with my dad.
Here we are with my Uncle Mike, dad, and Gini and Luke's 4 oldest kids.
After the funeral, we went and visited the beach. This was a really short trip, and it would have been fun to visit for a couple more days. The humidity there is a killer on my hair..... I turn into cousin it!
Rachel was cold because we just got hit by a wave
This dock was really neat, it felt like it went farther out on the ocean than it looks from here. There were all kinds of clams and starfish clinging to the poles holding up the bridge. We ate at the restaurant at the end of this dock. It was fun!
Gini and Luke stayed later than we did. They rode up separately, and stayed for another day. Makala took this picture of the dock at night, it  is so pretty! I definitely want to visit the beach again next summer.

Halloween!

This year while I was trying to get our yearly halloween pictures, Chase decided he was too cool to dress up. So instead he decided to try to help out my picture taking a little.....

Nice huh!

Young women ideas!

For Young women's in excellence, I was in charge of making some temple pictures to give to the girls. Our theme is "be loyal to the Royal within you". I found these pictures on pinterest, and loaded it onto picnik and added the saying at the bottom. I had them printed at Costco, I think they turned out pretty nice!
This is the finished product!
The materials I used to make it was a long 48" pine board, the I cut it down into 8" widths. I had to get 6 out of each board, so to make one for yourself wouldn't require that length. I stained the wood with ebony stain. Then I glued everything on with mod podge. I like the look how it turned out, it looks like the picture is canvas. Believe me, this was easy, if I could do it anyone could do it.
I added a top layer of varnish to give it a little more shine.

UPDATE: I need to update this and let everyone know that it works better to use rubber cement behind the pictures. Just put it on the corners and x it in the middle and then roll it down with a rolling pin. Then add mod podge over the top..... will definitely save some time!

I love puppies!

I just love baby puppies, they are so cute. Chase's dog had puppies again, and I love the age they are now. They are 4 weeks now, so they are getting fun to play with, and every time you go outside to see them they get startled and bark at you.... ha ha it is so funny!
This little guys is already sold, we are holding him until he is 6 weeks old.

They are fun to have around!

Best Video Ever!!

Casey, Jesse, Luke and Gibb all were on a team and did the Carey Ranch Rodeo.... it was a small rodeo, but they are fun to watch. Instead of having a stock saddle event, they had a wild cow milking. So I need to set this video up here, Casey is on the horse, his brother Jesse is in the white shirt, Gib is in the short sleeved shirt and Luke is the other one.... just watch what happens!

Priceless!
It looks like Gibb wanted to do the shuffle with luke!

Long overdue family pictures!

We had our family pictures taken by my niece Makala.... she is so good at it. It has been two years since we have had pictures, and as I am going through them, getting rid of the old ones and replacing with the new ones, I am realizing how much the kids have changed in two years. It is scary how fast time goes by.

Thanks Makala!
